As of the 2016 elections, there were thousands of Chester County voters registered as Libertarians. Yet, because the Libertarian Party has not been well organized in the County – they have largely not had voices or ballot choices. The goal of the LP of Chester County is to change this and to Give Liberty a Voice!
The Libertarian Party is The Party of Principle
“life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”
- Let peaceful, honest people decide for themselves how they want to live.
- Respect Individuals and their Fundamental Rights as the essential precondition for a freedom and prosperity. We defend each person’s right to engage in any activity that is peaceful and honest, and welcome the diversity that such freedom brings.
- Maintain government within its Constitutional bounds to fulfil its primary duty to protect life, liberty, and property. Minimize bureaucracy, regulations and taxes.
- Use our military to defend our lives and liberty — not to get involved in what Washington called “entangling foreign alliances” that lead to endless global war with our children as the world’s police.
- Our nation, state, and communities should be places where individuals are free to follow their own dreams in their own ways, without interference from government or authoritarian powers.
And, locally, there are many issues that impact your daily lives:
- Chester County Property Taxes increased an average of 28% in the past decade, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer and Vista.today. The Libertarian Party of Chester County (LPChesco) supports lowering the burden of taxes on Chester County residents.
- LPChesco promotes the right of Chester County residents to assemble and opposes attempts to regulate free speech in Chester County.
- Eminent Domain abuse has become common in Pennsylvania. LPChesco supports every property owner in Chester County in seeking to prevent this abuse.
- Regulations and licensing requirements at every level impede the entrepreneurial spirit and serve as obstacles to new businesses. LPChesco is against the use of government to squash new business and competition and to prevent people from bettering their lives.
- LPChesco supports the right, guaranteed by the Pennsylvania Constitution, to defend yourself without question and stands against those that seek to punish the majority for the actions of a few.
