The Future of Freedom

A Student Essay Contest

Young Americans are more interested and active in political discourse than ever before. This is a positive step, and the Libertarian Party of Chester County wants to encourage all students to grow with an appreciation for personal liberty, respect for the freedoms of others, and a healthy skepticism of heavy-handed government.

To that end, we invite all students in Chester County, who are at least 13 years old and in grades 7-12, to participate in “The Future of Freedom,” a student essay contest established by the LPCC. This contest is open to students of public, private, religious, charter, online, or homeschools.

This year’s theme is “Unlawful Laws.”

We’ve all heard someone say, “There oughta be a law…,” but we in the Libertarian Party think there are already too many laws on the books. Local, state, and national governments are quick to create new legislation, but rarely do they repeal a law, even when these laws can’t be supported by, or even flat out defy, our state or national constitutions.

The submission period for the 2021 Future of Freedom contest has closed. Winners will be announced June 1st. Thank you to all who participated!
